What is Reiki? ![]()
Reiki
(pronounced "Ray-Key") is the name for the natural
non-invasive healing system
discovered by Mikao Usui who lived in Japan. The word Reiki is made
of up two parts: "rei" which means Universal and "ki" which means
life energy. Thus the term Reiki means "Universal Life
Energy". This energy is derived from the Divine source and flows
through all living things on this planet. and is of the simple
belief system, that we are all "one" and healing for the highest good
occurs through unconditional love and the Divine intervention of God. Reiki facilitates healing in multiple levels. Some of its many benefits include:
Receiving a Reiki session usually takes place on a chair or a
massage table with the client remaining fully clothed. The only
participation required is to allow oneself to relax and be open to the
effects of the Reiki healing energy. A Reiki session can be
scheduled between 30 minutes to 90 minutes,
during which
time, the client may experience heat, or become aware of tingling or
pulsing sensations, as the healing Reiki energy radiates from the Reiki
practitioner's hands and begins to effect positive change, and restore
balance, throughout the recipient's whole being. As a Reiki Master/Teacher, it is my honor and joy to share Reiki with others both as a Reiki practitioner and teacher. I currently offer a number of treatment options, Reiki training classes and events in the Milwaukee area. Please visit the other Reiki pages on this site for more information.
